Obama's Address To Congress

>> Thursday, February 26, 2009

Anyone who missed Obamas address to congress can watch it by clickin the links below.

Robert --

Last night, I addressed a joint session of Congress for the first time.

To confront the serious economic challenges our nation faces, I called for a new era of responsibility and cooperation. We need to look beyond short term political calculations and make vital investments in health care, energy, and education that will make America stronger and more prosperous well into the future.
Watch a few highlights from my address and share it with your friends now:

A little more than a month into my administration, we've already taken bold steps to address our urgent economic problems.

Through the Recovery Act, the Stability Plan, and the Housing Plan, we're taking the immediate necessary measures to halt our economic downturn and provide much-needed assistance to working people and their families.

But to set our country on a new course of stability and prosperity, we must reject the old ways of doing business in Washington. We can no longer tolerate fiscal deficits and runaway spending while deferring the consequences to future generations.

That's why I pledged last night to cut our deficit in half by the end of my term. Achieving that goal will require making sacrifices and hard decisions, as well as an honest budgeting process that is straight with taxpayers about where their dollars are going.

Watch some key moments from my address now:

Central to this plan will be a renewed commitment to honesty and transparency in government. Restoring our country's economic health will only happen when ordinary citizens are given the opportunity to hold their representatives fully accountable for the decisions they make.

I look forward to continuing to work with you as we bring about the change you made possible.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

Americans Have A New Enemy

>> Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Americans have a new enemy. This is a cold hearted enemy who will only help you if you have lots of money. This enemy wants to destroy the labor unions, the middle class and anyone else who goes against their beliefs. Who is this enemy you ask? It is none other than the Republican Party. The Republicans in the House and Senate have as much as admitted that they want to see Democrats fail in their attempt to save the American economy from going into a economic depression. They have announced proudly that they would rather see us go into an economic depression than use 800 billion tax payer dollars to stimulate the economy. They wanted the Detroit Automakers to fail also, but Bush didn't want to be known as the one who caused a great depression because he is already known as the worst president in history, so he authorized the loans for Automakers before he left office. The Republicans in our government know that if the Democrats succeed in rescuing this economy, that their days in power will be numbered. That is why they want the great depression to happen. They don't care about all the millions of Americans who would lose their jobs, their pensions and their homes. They don't care about the sky rocketing crime rate that would happen if we had a depression. All they care about is helping the rich and keeping the Republican Party in Power. In my mind the Republican Party  has become an enemy of all Americans. I only hope that the supporters of the Republican Party realize that the agenda of the GOP is anti American. Right now we need to stand behind the Democrats and help this great nation of ours recover from 8 years of Republican repression.

Buying Auto Show Carpet

>> Wednesday, February 4, 2009

I haven't made a post in this blog lately, so guess I'll try to talk about my experience buying some used carpet from the auto show last Thursday. I saw on the news that Mcnabb's Flooring was selling the used carpet from the auto show for 22 cents a square foot. I needed some carpet for the finished attic I just got done with. So I went there at 8:00 AM Thursday thinking I would get ahead of the crowd. To my surprise when I arrived, there was about 200 hundred people already there. After quickly finding a place to park, I got inside the store and received ticket number 139. Thinking to myself, (I remember hearing that they will serve 400 people per day), I thought that it might only take 3 or 4 hours waiting for my turn to pick out some carpet. Boy, was I wrong! I didn't get out of that store until 7:00PM, which means I was there for 7 hours. Anyway it was worth the wait, because I saved over $1,400 on that carpet. Now my next task is to either hire someone to install it or rent the tools and install it myself. If I ever decide to buy used auto show carpet there again, I'll make sure I'm there at 7:00AM at least. Then maybe I'll only have 2 or 3 hour wait.

A Note to EC Droppers

>> Sunday, February 1, 2009

I apologize to any EC droppers who visit my blog. I didn't make any drops yesterday because I was busy doing other things. I am continuing to drop today, although I may not get close to 200 drops. Well that didn't last very long. Just when I was getting started dropping, EC went down for maintenance. Figures! Thanks for visiting my blog.
